A Room with a View by E. M. Forster (p.110~p.123)
The Comic Muse, though able to look after her own interests, did not disdain the assistance of Mr. Vyse. His idea of bringing the Emersons to Windy Corner struck her as decidedly good, and she carried through the negotiations without a hitch.
Indeed, so ample was the Muse's equipment that she permitted Mr. Harris, never a very robust criminal, to droop his head, to be forgotten, and to die.
But, as I say, this took a little thinking, and ---so illogical are girls---the event remained rather greater and rather more dreadful than it should have done.

TEXT: Turning minimalist: Life is simpler but no less richer written by Geetika Bhandari
When her family decided they were moving to Nigeria from India, she expected to lead a life shrouded by some amount of fear, which was infamous for the Boko Haram, and kidnappings and robberies were commonplace.
Since over a month her family lived with basically daily things they need, she’s been thinking about how much they collect over the years, when they actually need so little to survive, and survive well.
In the absence of material possessions, the priority shifts. The bottom line is: You work on yourself, you work on cultivating meaningful relationships, and without mindless engagements to fill up your social calendar, you discover a different kind of freedom.
